Who we are
Hearth apps — BigTable, Suffice, Sated, Caloma and Hearken — are made by Stephen Warren, an independent developer (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information each app handles, where it is kept, and the choices you have. Where an app’s description below differs from this general summary, the app’s description controls.

BigTable
BigTable lets several people plan meals and shop together, so it stores the following on servers we operate:
- Account: your name, email address and sign-in details (or the identifier Apple provides if you use Sign in with Apple).
- Household: the household name, the people in it, and what you enter about them — such as birthdays, likes, dislikes, dietary restrictions and photos.
- Your content: recipes, photos, meal plans, grocery lists, tags, likes, favorites and follows.
- Community: if your profile is visible in Community, your display name, photo and published recipes can be seen by other BigTable users. You can hide your profile and block people in Profile › Privacy.
- Subscriptions and usage: whether you have BigTable Pro, and how many AI requests you’ve used, so we can apply plan limits. Payment is handled by Apple; we never see your card details.
- Notifications: a device token, if you allow notifications.
When you use AI features — Plan My Week, grocery generation, recipe imports or generated photos — the request and the relevant plan or recipe details are sent to an AI service provider to produce the result. When you use Dine Out, your location (or the area you type) is used to search for nearby restaurants and isn’t stored with your account. Snack searches go straight from your device to Open Food Facts.

Suffice
Your accounts, balances, transactions, budgets, bills and household members are stored on your device and synced through your iCloud. If you share Suffice with someone, the shared data is visible to them through iCloud sharing. We do not operate a server that receives your ledger.
If you choose to connect a bank, the connection is made through Plaid. You sign in to your bank with Plaid, not with us; Plaid returns your account and transaction information to the app, using a small relay we operate only to keep Plaid’s credentials secret. We do not store your transactions on that relay. Plaid’s handling of your information is described in the Plaid End User Privacy Policy. Face ID is handled by iOS; we never receive biometric data.

Sated
Your food log, goals and settings are stored on your device and in your iCloud. Food search uses a database built into the app, so searches never leave your device. Nutrition labels are read with your camera on the device; photos are not uploaded.
- Barcodes: when you scan one, the barcode number is sent to Open Food Facts to look up the product.
- Apple Health: with your permission, Sated can exchange nutrition data with Apple Health. Health data is never used for advertising and is never stored on any server we operate.
- Optional services: Sated may create an anonymous session, with no name or email attached, to authenticate optional shared features. No food log or health data is stored with it.

Caloma
Family members, photos, chores, rewards, points, calendar events, rooms and home-care tasks are stored on your device and synced through iCloud between the parents who share the family. We do not operate a server that receives your family’s information.

Hearken
Highlights, notes, bookmarks, reading progress, study activity, mastery and preferences are stored on your device and in your iCloud. Some optional features connect to other providers — for example, downloading a listening voice from its host, playing an embedded video, or opening a scripture reference on an external website. Those providers may receive technical information such as your IP address.
On-device intelligence
The coach and Say It in Sated, and Ask Suffice in Suffice, use the AI built into your iPhone. Your questions, voice and data are processed on the device and are not sent to us or to an AI provider. Speech is transcribed on the device as well.
Apple and other services
iCloud, Sign in with Apple, Apple Health, notifications, the App Store and in-app purchases are provided by Apple and governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy. If you use Sign in with Apple, Apple shares only what you authorize and may give us a private relay email address.
BigTable uses service providers that process data on our behalf: Supabase (accounts, database and photo storage), Vercel (hosting), RevenueCat (subscription status) and an AI provider for its AI features. They may use your information only to provide their service to us.
Children
Caloma is designed for parents to use with their children. Information about children — such as names, photos and chore history — is entered by a parent and stays on the family’s devices and iCloud; we do not collect it. Our other apps are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Keeping and deleting data
Data in your iCloud stays for as long as you keep it. Each app has an option in its settings to erase its data from your device and iCloud, and you can manage iCloud storage in your device’s settings.
BigTable keeps your account information while your account is open. Delete your account in Profile › Delete Account and we will delete your account and the content tied to it, except where we must keep limited records to meet legal obligations. Recipes you published may remain where other people copied them into their own households.
Your choices and rights
You can use Suffice, Sated, Caloma and Hearken without signing in, turn off iCloud sync, and change permissions for the camera, microphone, photos, location, notifications and Health at any time in iOS Settings. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, or to object to certain processing. Email us to make a request; we will respond within the time required by law. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law.
Security
We rely on Apple’s platform protections, including iCloud encryption and the Keychain. BigTable data is sent over encrypted connections and protected by access controls. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
